Land Mafia in Thrissur

Most of the small and big weddings in Malappuram district are shifting to auditoriums these days. There are many reasons behind this, as the house has less yard, the inconvenience of putting pantal, the increasing cost of pantal construction, the scarcity of potable water, the access facilities and vehicle parking facilities for people coming from far away.

From low-rent halls to luxurious auditoriums with central AC, there are wedding halls to choose from as per the needs of the individual.Considering the availability of water and the low cost of land, many of these mandapams are built by filling paddy fields. In Kerala, where the Paddy Field Protection Act and the Watershed Protection Act are being implemented very strictly, the farmers are suffering due to the fact that the waste from these mandapams, which have been made by obstructing the water flow and filling the paddy fields, are thrown into the adjacent farmlands.

Destroying hills

Reports of landslides and related accidental deaths are pouring in from various parts of the state. Most of the natural disasters that are happening today are due to the fact that we have disturbed the natural balance of nature without following any safety standards and without any long view. Man’s exploitation of nature is going beyond limits by clearing forests, leveling hills and filling water bodies with that soil. Its continuation is behind the disappearance of mountains in Kannur district.

State with this work being carried out by the black coal quarries in the bordering hilly areas and the land mafia in the villages and suburbs, what is going to happen will be bigger disasters than what has happened so far.

Kuppam, which is within the municipal limits of Thaliparamb, has reached the hill near the Maruthakad highway and has reached the tower where the high tension power line is drawn. From there, large boulders were dislodged and reached the road, which is still lying there like a danger sign

Scam behind Meditation Centers

Kerala is a country where a lot of people have destroyed the stage of God by spreading superstition in the name of religion and God. There are many foolish ways in which modern man today believes in superstition. But if you hear that there are more than 2,000 young women in our Kerala who have left their husbands and parents and believed the word of God and lived with them, it may be hard to believe.

But the thing is real. The activities of the Emperor Emmanuel Church, which operates as a center at Muriyad near Iri Ngalakudak in Thrissur district, are Jugupsa Vaha. Registered as a Charitable Trust, this institution functions as a meditation center. They attract mostly young women under the age of 30 to pray at the meditation center. Although the prayer is in the name of Jesus Christ, they have no connection with any Christian church working in India or abroad. Priests who have been expelled from various Christian churches are here with the help of trustees. Most of the people who attract members to these prayer houses are young women under 30 years of age.

Mullaperiyaar Dam Contraversies

Kerala, the native land of God, where nature used to protect it with all its care. There are about 30 lakh people in four districts here, fearing a disaster that could happen at any time and losing hope. Today every Malayali is convinced that the 116-year-old Mullaperiyar Dam is not safe. But the touchy-feely Tamil Nadu man is not convinced at all. No matter how much Kendra told him, he did not understand. Even our government has not been able to convince the Supreme Court of India. Why can’t we defuse such a big water bomb even though the Mullaperiyar river, water storage areas and the dam are all completely within the borders of Kerala?

In 1979, the inspection conducted by the Central Water Commission, considering the weakness of the dam, the maximum water level was fixed at 136 feet. Only when the water level is above 136 feet will they be able to supply water to Vaiga Dam, a major project in Tamil Nadu. But below that is the shutter to open to E Tuki Dam and the tunnel to take water to Tamil Nadu. No matter how high or low the water level in the dam is, water will be available for farming in four districts of Tamil Nadu through this tunnel at a height of 104 feet. The legal battle that started in various courts since 1990 was resolved with the Supreme Court judgment on February 29, 2006. The Supreme Court verdict that the Mullaperiyar water level should be raised from the present 136 feet to 142 feet and then raised to 152 feet after the approval of an expert committee by strengthening the dam has left the people of Kerala in the dark

Malabar Cements Case

The outside world came to know about the corruption of Rs 400 crore in Malabar Cements, one of the public sector undertakings in Kerala, through the 2006 CAG report. Despite receiving clear information about this massive corruption committed by company officials and contractors in the purchase and transportation of materials such as fly ash and limestone required for cement manufacturing, the government tried to hide the said CAG report without ordering any kind of investigation into it or trying to find the culprits and recover the amount of loss from them.

Our organization (Anti-Corruption and Human Rights Protection Council), which was working as a center in Palakkad, came to public attention through strong protests against this action of the government. As the government did not listen to the petitions and protests, the organization decided to bring the said corruption case to the attention of the High Court. Based on that, the President filed a Public Interest Litigation for the organization in 2006.

Nurses Strike

Nurses are specially trained to care for patients. Therefore, they are able to take care of the patient who is suffering physically and mentally, very gently and patiently than Goddess Bhumi, and comfort the patient with loving and compassionate care. Today, they have proved that they will not stand up to the contempt and neglect shown by the hospital owners in the field of work. Workers are organized in all other sectors of work.

There is no date for any type of exploitation. But the nurses were taking care of patients with a smiling face while taking so much pride inside.I know only now. It’s a wonder how those hospital bosses managed to make them work like slaves by giving them a meager salary and getting educated by spending lakhs of rupees.
